After reading the list of things you wished you could have changed about your training for this race, I have to say--this finish is IMPRESSIVE to say the least!! You will certainly have that 3:10 finish and I think you'll have an even faster one after that! Look what you did on 10 weeks of less-than optimal training (no 20+ runs, very few weekly miles, very few hills). You PRd again!! WAY TO GO!! GREAT JOB!!!Danahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07729198392505371070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6458829972471193818.post-20273423683590298082012-11-04T11:08:10.365-08:002012-11-04T11:08:10.365-08:00I LOVE reading your recaps. After reading your list of things you wanted to change about your training for this race...WOWZER you were SO CLOSE to your goal. You will have that 3:10, and I think you will have an even faster one after that! But, the fact is, this was a PR on ten weeks of training with no 20+ mile runs and less than optimal hill training on what anyone would call a "hilly" course. At least with rollers you have some relief pretty quick...when it's up, up, up for several miles I think it's more taxing (both mentally and physically). WELL DONE Katie!Danahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07729198392505371070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6458829972471193818.post-8794397056893177022012-10-21T19:55:01.990-07:002012-10-21T19:55:01.990-07:00Gracie, I wish it would be that easy! :) I will d...Gracie, I wish it would be that easy! :) I will definitely try adding fuel in the middle section of the race though, and gel probably over something I have to chew. (who knows, maybe in Little Rock!) Do you think fueling early on helped? I feel like it has always helped me. By the last fueling mile I am usually sick of my gu but I make myself eat it.

Your middle mile splits are amazing- so even!! You can tell your training was right on and you were very prepared. Enjoy that new PR! Great job!Tiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17865099182609959790noreply@blogger.com
